The Barts story began in the summer of 1986, when, along the beaches of St. Tropez, Bart Koene sold his hand sewn swim shorts, it proved to be a massive success. In order to cover herself from the heat, one of the girls helping him out tied a strip of the cloth around and people quickly asked if they could buy this chic bandana. Bart continued to reflect on headwear from that time. And just a few years later, the Barts brand was born.
